About the Author
A few nice folks have asked for more information about the creator of this
page. Well, that would be me, Robin Mayhall. I recently moved back to my hometown of Baton Rouge, La., after living in Austin, Texas, for 14 years. I have been a fan of The X-Files since about halfway through the first
season. My favorite episodes are "Jose Chung's From Outer Space,"
"Humbug," "Darkness Falls," and "One Breath."
I'm 32 years old, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, and I work as the business manager for the Louisiana Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. I run my own freelance writing business, Hieran Publishing, on the side. I'm proud to say I earned my professional Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 1998 and have maintained it through my involvement with Public Relations Society of America. Playing
on the computer is just a hobby that has taken over my life. I have a still very nice though slightly obsolete Mac Powerbook 3400.
I was active in Delphi's Official X-Files SIG for a little over a year and
at the time it was a great place to find the most intelligent fans, the
most interesting discussion, and the most entertaining threads of any online
service. I had the opportunity to chat there with a few of the X-Files creators, such
as Jim Wong and Chris Carter himself. I should mention that I'm a Duchovnik as well
as an MPEBer. (I'm also an USTer, a Scully Power Ranger, and a member of Delphi's No Alien Baby
camp.)
I am no longer on Delphi but can still be reached via e-mail at robin@hieran.com.
I moderate the "Eve list" of former Delphians and try to keep up with this
web page. You can find out more about the Eve list at http://www.topica.com/lists/eve/.
I should mention here the answers to two frequently asked questions: one, "hieran" (my domain name) is a word that means a lot to me, although it will be meaningless to all but a handful of other people. It's the name of a character I created for a story. Two, I am not in any way officially affiliated with Mitch Pileggi or The X-Files, and I can't submit a script for you, or get in touch with Mitch in any way but the usual.
I had the great pleasure of organizing both TEX-Files
'96, a gathering of online Philes from all over the nation, and its predecessor, TEX-Files '95. Both events took place in Austin, Texas. Please check the TEX-Files page for a look at what X-Files fans do when they actually get together in the same room.
One of my pet projects is putting together a web page to showcase my grandfather's stories of his experiences in World War II. His memoirs have actually been published now in a wonderful book called Cranking Up a Fine War. You can read more about this at D+66. My main personal page, Hieran Publishing, may be of interest to a few. I also have a couple of freelance clients for whom I maintain web pages, and I help maintain the Sidekicks Society, all of which can be accessed from Hieran Publishing.
