Redux

a review by Fletch

Hi girls. It's Fletch again. Now, I know that I'm only supposed to be reviewing 'Walter Eps.', but since this is part one, I thought that I'd do it anyway.

Although He was not in it, I enjoyed it.

It begins with Scully having been called to the carpet yet again. The poor girl has rug-burn as well as rampaging cancer. She is there to debunk his work, seemingly for the final time. The story then unfolds, interspersed with Scully's narration.

I must say that it is so nice to see her smile! I enjoyed seeing her with her family. I have to side with her strapping big brother, though, when they were in the hospital later on. She is being selfish where her problem is concerned. As strong as Scully is, I think that she should allow her family to support her.

A first for me was Mulder's own skepticism when he was talking to the man at the Smithsonian. He usually always follows so blindly, so it was a surprise. But he didn't let me down, he went off again in search of his Holy Grail, after a more than usually heated exchange with Scully.

They did a good job on the pseudo alien. I must say that when I saw that strange marking, it did scream 'injection mold'! I just sat back and waited for the rest to unfold.

As I mentioned, they did a good job on the false E.T., although since one of the BRAWS girls couldn't get a *bra* through Canada customs, I can't see how those guys managed to get the alien through!

With the deaths surrounding the hoax in this one, I'm surprised that CSM didn't make an appearance.

Later, when Mulder and Scully had their exchange, I could see that Scully was a little hurt that she was right about everything, probably because she knew how hurt Mulder would be. The look on Mulder's face when he had his rude awakening was priceless. As I mentioned in my review of 'Zero Sum', I find him wooden, for the most part.

And then, alone in his apartment, he commits a rash action. Or does he?

Stay tuned for next week's episode. Same bat time, same bat channel!

I will write a spoiler here, something that I will only do once in a blue moon.

I believe that Mulder engineered his own death, and I also believe that he used a clone to represent his corpse. What better way can one move about invisibly, than to have everyone think that you're dead?

The reason I believe that he used a clone is so that his plan could be complete. That requires Scully's genuine reaction.

This is all I could think of right now. I hope that something gets resolved here. I don't know how much longer that they can milk Scully's illness.
